Bay Tales 2025
Bay Tales Live returns to Whitley Bay Playhouse for a fourth year.
In its first three years, multi-award nominated Bay Tales has become one of the biggest crime fiction events in the UK and is returning in 2025 with its biggest show yet.
Bay Tales Live patron, Ann Cleeves (author of Vera and Shetland) will be welcoming special guest William Shaw for her opening session, followed by panels across the day where you can hear the biggest and best crime writers talking live on stage.
The Bay Tales team are delighted to welcome authors from Orion, Viper and Pan Macmillan including Mari Hannah, Janice Hallett and Sarah Hilary. The final event of the day is a conversation between multi-award winning and bestselling authors C.L. Taylor and Mark Billingham.
Featured in The Sunday Times, Tyne Tees TV and attracting attendees from around the world, Bay Tales Live offers:
* panel discussions and your chance to put your questions to your favourite authors
* book signings
* on-site bookshop courtesy of Whitley Bay's independent bookshop 'the bound'
* charity raffle featuring money-can't-buy prizes
* merchandise and tote bags featuring advance copies of some of 2025's biggest titles before they hit the shelves
Ticket holders are also entitled to priority access to fringe events that will take place around Whitley Bay throughout the weekend. Places are limited and are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
