Gavin Webster's Yuletide Complaint
North East comedy legend Gavin Webster returns to the PLAYHOUSE for a new Christmas show where he complains about modern life, fires pithy one liners into the crowd and goes on surreal flights of fancy with unpretentious charm coupled with entertaining yet bleak set pieces that batter audiences into breathless comedy submission.
Almost a thorn in the side of the safe and dull national comedy circuit, this fast talking, banjo wielding anger merchant has charm and bonhomie by the tub load to offset the fury and this in turn results in him being as at home on stage at a football function as he is at a women’s institute or a Marxist revolutionary fundraiser.
An hour of whipped up, high octane, frenzied, crash bang wallop with full support will make for an unforgettable yuletide night out with friends who, if they’ve never seen Webster before should before they decide on their real comedy tastes. An antidote to the Arena comic, this is a must see show.
