Richard Hawley plus support presented by North Tyneside Council as part of the Mouth of the Tyne Festival
The Playhouse Whitley Bay, in partnership with North Tyneside Council, is pleased to present Richard Hawley plus support as part of this year’s Mouth of the Tyne Festival.
Singer-songwriter, guitarist and producer, Richard Hawley will grace the Playhouse stage on Friday 13th July as part of the Mouth of the Tyne Festival armed with an array of songs from his six studio albums.
After finding success as a member of Britpop band Longpigs in the 1990s, he later joined the band Pulp, led by his friend Jarvis Cocker before going on to release a series of albums as a solo artist.
In 2006, he gained a nomination for the Mercury Prize and in 2008 Hawley was nominated for his first solo Brit Award for Best British Male Performer. The following year, he won the Mojo record of the year for his sixth studio album ‘Truelove’s Gutter’.
Y Niwl is supporting Richard Hawley at the PLAYHOUSE.
This year's Mouth of the Tyne Festival is sponsored by TyneMet College and Port of Tyne.
